Kym's generation. And their future.

After this government destroys everything and is finally ejected from office in whatever way, we are probably going to need a Truth & Reconciliation Commission.

The economy, foreign policy, border security, home affairs, civil rights, social cohesion, fundamental freedoms, union-state relationships, minority rights, the justice system, law & order, levels of civility in political discourse, ideological grounding, employment, health, culture, history, tourism, manufacturing, services, education, infrastructure, government-run undertakings, bureaucracy, strategic assets, banking, literacy, legislative niceties and procedures, military affairs, defence preparedness, and integrity (both moral and financial), everything is so messed in their quest to win elections and stay in power that India will need therapy at the end of it.

My only hope is that when they go, it is a peaceful transition via elections, being thrown out by people who have seen through them, rather than through the total annihilation of war, whether external or, dog-forbid, civil.

I think about this sometimes when I look at my child and wonder what lies in store for her. And I shudder.

P.S: Yes, as she gives her mum her morning coffee and an open sandwich (made by her because she presumed we'd all be too sick after testing positive!), she is curtseying. That sweet kid! How I want her and her generation to live a 'normal' life.
