Those who are hyperventilating on Kangana's recent statement at a public forum, have you ever heard the majority of educated, urban Indians speak at cocktail parties (or educated semi-urban ones speak at weddings, family gatherings, and satsangs)?

These throwaway statements are par for the course and rub shoulders with other obscurantist claptrap like cowdung's nuclear-shielding properties, Vatican's Hindu roots, and Nehru's Muslim ones. No one bats an eyelid. Just like Navika. Even more knowledgeable and saner folks cannot get anything better than an embarrassed, non-committal noise out of their throats. Again, like Navika.

Just because Kangana said it publicly in the social-media-immersed 2021, it has gone borderline viral. But this (and similar bunkum) has been articulated and gone unchallenged for rather long in Indian living rooms. Even from before 1947.
