The house always wins.

Seeing how the NIA, the ED, the police, and the courts are being used, seeing how the UAPA, 295A, 66A, and 124A is being applied, seeing what the media chooses to show (and hide), and seeing who the government brings the 'full force of the law' on and who it decides to ignore under the pretext of FoE and 'lack of evidence', I am convinced that the law is not what we were brought up to believe as children: a benevolent, neutral, wise, unbiased, unprejudiced, disinterested, and deliberate system to keep society from unfairness to anyone equally without fear or favour, indeed a force for the constantly progressing good of the society it serves, but is simply another weapon in the arsenal of the ruling classes to keep themselves in power and keep others away from it.

It isn't as if this was some kind of a national secret that was revealed to me. It is just that I had a small sliver of hope that I may be wrong in some cases, at some times, with some people. But apparently, I was mistaken. This is not an exception. It is the norm. Not for now. But for millennia. The NIA and ED, the UAPA and 295A, the false flags and stolen elections, are just the latest mutations and manifestations of this in the present times. This is not something the BJP or Modi invented. This is not something Nehru or Gandhi were unaware of. This is just how the world works(?). It is heartbreaking to acknowledge the loss of innocence. But I must. I can no longer live in denial.

It is not that there are no honest people with integrity and courage left. There are. But they are too few and far between, too rare and spread apart, too small and powerless for them to change the system. The house always wins because that is how the system is designed. The system moves and operates in a way to protect and propagate the system. It is not an AI or machine intelligence like Skynet that has defeated or enslaved human civilisation; it is a human-built system that has achieved singularity and works not for the humans that created it, are affected by it, or even pretend to run it. The system exists for itself and protects its own interest. If you, as a human, have interests aligned to the system, it will seem superficially to you that you are in some kind of control. You aren't. Remember: the system never works for you; you work for the system.

P.S: I am in a dark mood today. Give me a day or two. I should be fine. Do not take my rantings seriously. As the graffiti in the attached image says, 'THERE IS ALWAYS HOPE'. You just need to step back from the image a bit to see it.
