Irredeemable. All of them.

I suggest that only for politicians, and just for them, the natural justice principles must be inverted in judging them, where they are assumed guilty unless proven innocent, corrupt unless proven clean, malafide unless proven honourable, conniving & manipulative unless proven straight & narrow, immoral unless proven ethical, untrustworthy unless proven dependable, uncouth unless proven civilised, spineless unless proven upright, lying unless proven truthful, unprincipled unless proven conscientious, lazy unless proven efficient, selfish unless proven generous, anti-national unless proven nation-loving, coward unless proven brave, two-faced unless proven honest, criminal unless proven law abiding, sub-human unless proven homo sapiens, and undeserving of our love, understanding, sympathy, empathy, support, even pity or mercy regardless of evidence or proof, while treating them like how showbusiness treats its actors where they are only as good, bad, or evil as their last act, their latest utterance, their most recent thought, their immediate association, and their present stand, with in fact our first instinct being on coming face-to-face with a creature that claims politics to be their profession being complete distrust, keeping them away from children and animals, ensuring minimal physical contact, and keeping communication on a strict need-to-know basis, the other immediate reaction being the arousal of extreme disgust within our selves, bordering on hate to the point that a significant amount of willpower must be required to avoid homicidal actions, if not the inadvertent and completely justified contemplation of a crime of passion, for they, the politicians, are beyond repair, or perhaps only those that are well past redemption join this profession, because honestly, whichever the case, whether cause or effect, the truth is that they are beyond hope, all if them, without exception.
I wish they all disappear. Maybe we should build an Ark B and send them out to colonise another planet with a promise that the rest of us will follow. Soon. Ish.
The trouble is that to organise people to build that Ark and convince the politicians to board it believing they are pioneers going forth to prepare a world for others requires the very specific set of skills only one kind of species possesses on this planet: the politician.
Which brings us to that asteroid which scientists claim is hurtling towards the Earth and will destroy it completely soon (2050?). How far is it and is there anything we can do to kind of speed things up on that? Where are the Vogon Constructor Fleets when you need them? Sigh!
