Things to teach your children about our planet.

Have you discovered the live feed from the #ISS yet?

Please take a look and also show it to your children.

Discuss what they see, and what they feel about what they see.

Discourage the 'Sare Jahan Se Accha' sentiment about any one region, country, or place.

Let them see for themselves how small we are, and how small the earth, and indeed our entire world, is.

Use this live feed as a starting point in debates about identity, especially 'us v/s them', as well as about the environment, climate change, migration, development, exploitation of natural resources, economy, poverty, etc.

Encourage them to show this to their friends and use it in similar discussions.

These pictures remind you that the Earth does not need saving. She has been here for a few billion years, and her future is assured for another few billion years at the very least. Whether this future includes or excludes us is what our thoughts, actions, and choices will decide, as will what we teach our children about life and living.
